AIMS

"Incontro fra i Popoli" is an association of international cooperation, made up of voluntary members. Its specificity is the care for those populations whose history, economy, technology and culture is ignored by the current economic, political, and social structures.

The association's effort to build up a world of justice, equality and peace is addressed both to the people who live in the South of the world and in the East of Europe and, of course, to the people who live in Europe, since our work of animation and education in the schools and in other agencies aims at making people aware of environmental issues in our land.

Incontro Fra i Popoli is an association of social utility (onuls).
It was born in 1990. It is an Non Governmental Organisation, officially recognized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to the law 49/87 and it is officially recognized by the European Union.
It is a member of the "Popular Initiatives Coordination of International Solidarity" (CIPSI).

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

"Incontro fra i Popoli" encourages and sustains the development processes of the people living in the South of the world and the East of Europe. Its specificity is to work in team only with local NGOs and associations. IfP helps its partners to realise their own projects and their own programmes, with their human and technical resources.

Nowadays our association is present:

• In Cameroon: promotion of rural cooperatives (G.I.C.) for the training and the micro credit (local NGO: CAFOR), sustain for the training of micro artisan businesses (local NGO: CAPEA) and the creation of female associations (local NGO: CAPEF);
• In R. D. Congo: sustain for the recover and training of young people who live in very difficult situation, recover of their families and the environment they live in (Muungano - City of Goma, PEDER, Comité Anti Bwaki and SODEBU - City of Bukavu, Caritas Développement, OFED and Bethanie -City of Uvira, ASDI -City of Kasongo, ADR - City of Shabunda, APEMA - City of Kindu).
• In Chad, Tanzania, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Romania (unfortunate children, orphans, young people living in the street), in Niger (wells), in Senegal (small enterprises).

SUPPORT AT A DISTANCE

In order to give a concrete help to destitute people, Incontro fra i Popoli proposes the support at a distance. We propose four possibilities of support to the people who really want to live in solidarity with the people in need of everything:

• Support a child (the instruction, the wellness..);
• Support a family (to complite the expenses for children's school, the wellness,..)
• Support an association (the work of a teacher - educator - organizer);
• Support the development project of a community ( a well, the process to produce drinking water, a school...).

ACTIVITES IN ITALY - CULTURE AND EDUCATION

In Italy, Incontro fra i Popoli sustains a capillary work which aims at making people aware and conscious of the unfair world economic system in our land. We propose some activities of training and education to schools, associations and groups of young people. These activities let them understand the injustices caused by the richest nations' economies and the effort to develop made by the marginalized populations.
Incontro fra i Popoli has a magazine published every three months and sent to 1200 addresses.

RESPONSIBLE TOURISM

"Incontro fra i Popoli" proposes international travels amongst populations it cooperates with. It is a special kind of tourism, very different from the traditional one, since the travellers' aim is to live in contact with the local communities and to know their culture, history and soul. Furthermore, the responsible tourism contributes to increase the economical growth of the local community. We organize stays in Cameroon, R.D.Congo, Sri Lanka and Romania.
